Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across North Macedonia, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

IOM Supports a Community-Led Initiative, Hiking in North Macedonia
Saraj - IOM supported a community-led initiative of parents and a youth from Municipality of Saraj, who dedicated to teaming up and promoting outdoor activities and their physical, mental and social benefits. They organized their first hiking tour around the Matka Canyon area as well as a mountain climbing course. IOM provided a mountain leader who organized the climbing course, as well as hiking gear and equipment that will remain with the club.
This initiative is part of the project “Providing support to youth in local communities”, financially supported by the Government of the United Kingdom, and implemented by IOM North Macedonia.
