PILOTING OF THE MIGRATION MODULE IN THE LABOUR FORCE SURVEY
IOM has supported the State Statistical Office (SSO) in incorporating a standard migration module into the labour force survey (LFS) and piloting the survey. This initiative will enhance the data collection mechanisms in the area of migration.
Two local experts were engaged to support the SSO in developing the standard migration module questionnaire according to EUROSTAT standards. It includes questions that will gather information about the country nationals living and working abroad. The piloting of the migration module in the LFS began in January 2023. By May 2023, the SSO had completed the selection of a sample that will be part of the survey and conducted training for interviewers and field activities.
