IOM North Macedonia Supports Community Initiatives to Build Cohesive Communities
Lipkovo - In March 2022, IOM North Macedonia with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom, through its already established and well-trained community liaison points, supported the teachers and schools in the municipality of Lipkovo that required support for modernization and renovation of their administration offices.
The elementary school "Faik Konica" in Slupchane received a grant to improve employees' working conditions, such as renovation and modernization of the existing teaching and office spaces, as well as the offices of the principal, pedagogue and psychologist.
“This grant has helped create more workspace for the professors and the school administration staff and by renovating, equipping and rearranging the offices, it has made the filing of documentation easier, and the organizing of the work much more optimized,” said Ardian Kadriu, Professor of Fine Arts.
The teachers, parents and youth who initiated this believe that undertaking a school renovation project of the largest school in the municipality of Lipkovo, will not only improve the school facilities where around 1 000 pupils attend, but also their academic performance, and will increase the effectiveness of the teachers, and will have a profound impact on the surrounding community as a whole.
