Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across North Macedonia, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

IOM North Macedonia Organized Capacity-Building Training for Key Stakeholders Focused On Diaspora
Skopje - IOM North Macedonia hosted a two-day workshop titled “Capacity building workshop in the area of migration and development, focused on diaspora”, which brought together 20 institutional stakeholders with competencies in diaspora-related issues, such as the Cabinet of the Minister without portfolio responsible for Diaspora, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Emigration Agency, the Ministry of Health, the National Bank, the Ministry of Local Self Government, the Agency for Foreign Investments, the United Macedonian Diaspora and the members of Inter-ministerial Working Group on Migration Policy.
The initiative was saluted and formally opened by Ministry without portfolio responsible for Diaspora, Minister Mr. Xhemail Çupi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Directorate for Economic and Public Diplomacy, Director Mr. Igor Popov, Italian Embassy to North Macedonia, Ambassador Mr. Andrea Silvestri and IOM North Macedonia Head of Office, Ms. Sonja Bozinovska-Petrushevska.
This activity was organized under the project “North Macedonia: Advisory Support for Strengthening the Capacities for Diaspora Engagement and Evidence-based Migration Policy Planning”, funded by the Central European Initiative.
