IOM North Macedonia Marks IOM 70th Anniversary With Organizing the Annual Global Migrant Film Festival
More than 300 university students participated at the Annual screening of the Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF) in course of November – December. The GMFF event adds to the celebration of IOM’s 70th Anniversary, marking 70 years of IOM’s work in the area of migration.
The GMFF was launched globally by the IOM, UN Migration Agency in 2016, and held each year from the 28th of November until the 18th of December by missions across the globe.
GMFF features films and documentaries that capture the promise and challenges of migration, and the unique contributions that migrants make to their new communities. The goal of the festival is to pave the way for greater discussion around one of the greatest phenomenon of our time.
During the GMFF, students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the IOM work in the country and to take part in an open discussion about a number of issues related to migration in the region.
