IOM Develops a Roadmap for Alignment of the Migration Statistics with the EU Standards
IOM, jointly with the State Statistical Office and the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia, have organized a hybrid workshop on migration statistics attended by migration statistics experts from the national institutions and IOM. This workshop was the second event in the process of the finalization of the National Road Map for Migration Statistics in North Macedonia.
The National Road Map on Migration Statistics is a strategic document that provides recommendations towards improving the practices and systems for the collection and exchange of migration statistics, and further alignment with the EU standards on migration statistics. IOM continues to provide long-term and comprehensive technical support to national migration management authorities in improving the quality and frequency of migration statistics in North Macedonia, as the basis for evidence-based policy making.
This activity was organized under the project “Regional Support to Protection Sensitive Migration Management in the Western Balkans and Turkey”, financed by the European Union.
