Investing in Youth is Investing in Development and Stability
In April 2022, IOM North Macedonia has donated equipment and supplies to schools from Kichevo and Gostivar to advance science education, sport development and support local communities.
IOM North Macedonia through informal student groups identified in cooperation with local non-governmental organizations, successfully identified two high schools from Kichevo and Gostivar that needed to improve their quality of education with new curricula, technologies, and strategies and create a more inclusive learning environment.
The high school “Drita” from Kichevo received a grant to purchase new sport and essential medical equipment and supplies, intended for use by their students, as well as students from the high school “Mirko Mileski” with whom they share sports facilities.
Additionally, the high school “Gostivar” from Gostivar received a grant to purchase innovative digital tools, such as a smart board with a projector for the realization of various cultural, artistic and scientific research activities, as well as for organizing of events and regional and state competitions.
More than 1,500 students from these two municipalities are directly benefiting from the grant initiatives, aiming to foster awareness around multicultural education and building resilience among young people. Furthermore, these initiatives are an important lecture for the included informal student groups regarding project management and financial literacy.
