The Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, upon proposal of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, has adopted the new country Resolution on Migration Policy and its Action Plan for 2021-2025.

This document is focused on creating institutional and other prerequisites for development of a sustainable and comprehensive framework for managing regular and irregular external migration, aiming to promote the development of the country, and it will be implemented within five strategic areas: Supporting framework; Reliable and relevant data on external migration; Managing regular migration; Control and management of irregular migration; and Building partnerships and international cooperation.

The Resolution on the Migration Policy of the Republic of North Macedonia 2021-2025 has been prepared by the intra-governmental body for development and implementation of the Migration Policy of the Republic of North Macedonia with the support of the Joint Program "Evidence-Based Migration Policy Planning in the Republic of North Macedonia", funded by the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund, and implemented by the IOM, UNFPA, and UNHCR in coordination with the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office.
